KLYS is the Swedish Joint Committee for Artistic and Literary Professionals, an umbrella organisation championing collaboration between professional artists from all art disciplines in matters of common interest and official referral body for cultural policy. We were commissioned to create a digital artwork for their main area of expertise - copyright.
Our artwork has been influenced by traditional folk art and crafts, such as textile wall hangings and decorative murals where scenes filled with symbolism illustrate the workers' conditions and environments. In this composition, copyright stands for the mechanisms that enable culture and art to be a dynamic place where a diversity of authors, artistic perspectives, characters and themes can flourish, seek protection, be guided and nurture all living things.
